Press the Events live icon to open the Calendar application where you can view your Google and Facebook events side-by-side. If you have a Facebook event due to take place today, the Events icon will change to show the event picture. It will also update to show friends’ profile pictures on their birthday. If you have no events or birthdays in today’s Calendar, the events icon will appear with today’s date shown underneath. If you have more than one event or birthday on one day, the pictures will swap every ten minutes.

The Events live icon updates once a day and will show images of events happening throughout the day.

You can set up new events linked to your Google Calendar from your phone's Calendar application. To do this, open the Calendar application from the Home screen or Main Menu and press the Options key, then select More > New event. Enter the event details here, including event time, date and any contacts your would like to invite to attend. You can also set up reminders in this screen. When you're finished, press Done.

You cannot set up Facebook events from your Events live icon or from the Calendar application. To do this, you'll need to log into Facebook online.

To respond to a Facebook event and confirm whether or not you're able to attend, press the Events live icon and choose the Facebook event you want to respond to. When the Facebook event opens in a new screen, you'll see a drop-down box where you'll be able to select your response from the options shown. Your response on Facebook will be updated automatically.

You can manage how your calendars are shown and synced in the Calendar application by pressing the Options key and selecting More > Calendars. Here you'll be able to see each of the calendars associated with your Google account(s) as well as your Facebook events and birthdays. Press the sync icon switch automatic syncing on or off. Press the visible icon to choose whether or not this calendar is visible in your phone's Calendar application.
