Contacts
Facebook contacts are friends whose details you have synced with your Contacts.
When you first sign into Facebook, you'll be given the option to sync all, some or none of your Facebook friends with your phone's contacts list. Syncing all of your friends will add Facebook friends as individual Contacts in your phone's contact list. Syncing with existing contacts will find Facebook contacts with the same name as friends already in your phone's Contacts and create combined Contacts entries for each of them where you'll be able to view their wall, photos and Facebook information.
All information downloaded from Facebook, including contact details, is read-only. It exists on your friends' profile pages and is pulled down to your phone when you sync their details. Therefore you can't edit this from your phone.
To add a number or details to a Facebook contact, you'll need to create a new contact and then merge the two together. Add a new contact by opening Contacts and then pressing the Options key and select New contact. Enter their details here and when you're finished, press Done.
To merge contacts together, select the contact you just created and press the Options key and select Edit contact. Then press the Options key and select Join. Select their Facebook contact details from your contacts list - the two will then be joined together.
When you first open Contacts, you'll see a prompt on how to import contacts from your SIM or memory card.
To do this, open Contacts and press the Options key, then select Import/Export. Choose where you want to import contacts from. You'll see a list of all of the contact details stored there. Press the ones you want to import to your phone or press the Options key and select Import all.
To join together separate Contacts entries on your phone, select one of the entries you want to join and press the Options key and select Edit contact. Then press the Options key and select Join. Select second entry from your contacts list - the two will then be joined together.
When you set up a Google account on your phone, it will start syncing contact details automatically. Any changes you make online will be replicated on your phone and vice versa.
To manage your Google contacts, including removing duplicates and creating contact grounps, you'll need to log into your Google account online.
One of the quickest ways to contact your friends is by using the quick contact options in Contacts. Open Contacts and scroll to the friend you want to talk to. Then press their profile picture to the left of their name. You'll see a popup with icons showing all the ways you can contact them, depending on the details you have saved to your phone. Press an icon to contact them that way.
You can share a contact's details by sending their information as a vCard via Bluetooth, Email or Gmail.
To send a vCard, open Contacts and select the contact whose details you want to share. Press the Options key and then select Share. Choose how you want to share their details - see the Bluetooth, Gmail or Email sections to find out more about how to use these applications or services.
If you really don't want to talk to someone, you can divert all of their calls straight to their voicemail. To do this, open Contacts and select the contact whose calls you want to dodge. Press the Options key and then select Options > Incoming calls. Now your phone won't ring when they call you and they'll go straight to your voicemail service.
