How do I add an Email account?

Your Email application supports most email providers, including those based on POP3, IMAP4 and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.

To set up a new Email account, open the Email application from the Home screen or Main Menu. If this is the first time you've opened the app, you'll be asked to set up a new account straightaway. If you already have one or more accounts set up, go to the Accounts screen and press the Options key then select Add account. Follow the options on-screen to enter your account details - your phone will attempt to sync with your account automatically. If your phone is unable to sync with your email account, you'll be asked to manually set up your account. You may need to contact your email service provider for some of this information.

Once your account details have been validated, you'll be asked to enter a name for your account and how you want your name to appear in sent messages. When you're finished, press Done.

My settings can't be determined - how do I add them manually?

If your phone is unable to sync with your email account, you'll be asked to manually set up your account. You may need to contact your email service provider for some of this information.

How can I change how often my Email app searches for new messages?

You can select how often your Email application checks for new messages by opening the Email application from your Home screen or Main Menu, go to your inbox screen and press the Options key, then select Account settings > Email check frequency. You can choose to check for new mail as often as every five minutes.

Please note that the more often you check for new messages, the more impact this is likely to have on data consumption and battery life.

What Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync security settings does Email support?

Email supports user name and password authentication for Exchange ActiveSync accounts - it does not support any other Exchange ActiveSync security policies at this time.
