How do I set up an email account on the INQ Chat 3G?
To add an email account to your INQ Chat 3G, first select INQ Email from the Switcher. Some of the most popular email service providers are listed in the Add Account screen. If yours is one of the ones shown, highlight and select it from the list.
You'll be asked to insert your email account details, including email address and password. Some providers may also ask for your domain (e.g. whether your email address ends in .com or .co.uk) before pre-populating other fields. If your service provider is not listed, you will be asked to insert all details manually.
Once you've added all of your details, select Log in. Your INQ Chat 3G will connect to your inbox and begin downloading the 50 most recent emails in your account's inbox.

Is my account / service provider supported on the INQ Chat 3G?
INQ Email supports all POP3 and IMAP4 accounts, so as long as you know your service provider's details - like server addresses, encryption and ports - you should be able to send and receive email on your INQ Chat 3G. Some more popular providers are already set up in INQ Email, so all you need to do is add your username or email address and your password.

How do I find out my server address and port?
If your email service provider isn't listed on the add account page, you'll need to enter your details manually. Contact your service provider for details of their server address, encryption preferences and ports.

Yes, INQ Email on the INQ Chat 3G supports multiple accounts - you can add up to five email accounts.

Can I choose how often my phone checks for new email?
Yes. To set how often your INQ Chat 3G checks for new email in your account, go to INQ Email > Options > Settings > Downloading. In Email refresh, scroll left and right to set the frequency and then hit Save.
If you have a Gmail account, you can opt to receive new email on your phone as and when it arrives in your Gmail inbox by selecting Push from the Email refresh box.
Please note that the more often your phone checks for new email, the more this impacts your phone's battery life. To prolong your battery life, you should set your INQ Email to check for new messages less frequently.

How do I save battery life while using email on my INQ Chat 3G?
The main thing you can do to save battery life is to set up your INQ Chat 3G to check for email less frequently. Do this by opening INQ Email from the Switcher and then selecting Options > Settings > Downloading > Email refresh and scroll left and right to make this less frequent. If you set your phone to only receive email manually you'll need to open your email inbox and then select Options > Send & receive to check for new messages.

How do I save memory while using email on my INQ Chat 3G?
To avoid taking up lots of memory with INQ Email on your INQ Chat 3G, you can choose to only download email headers (sender names and subject lines) by default, with the option to download the rest of the message when you open it. This means you'll only download the messages you read on your phone and not your entire inbox. Do this by selecting Options > Settings > Downloading from your INQ Email inbox and choosing Download > Headers only.
In this menu, you can also set a download limit on your emails, meaning that your phone will only download an email if its size is less than 100, 200 or 500KB of a message, depending on what you choose. Emails with size up to this should be manually downloaded.
You can also choose to delete messages from your INQ Chat 3G without deleting them on the server, so they'll still be there when you next log in online. Do this by choosing Delete on server when deleted on handset > No.

How do I add an attachment to my email?
To add attachments to your email, select Create new email and enter your recipient and subject line. Select Options > Add attachment and choose the type of attachment you want to add from the list. If you have a memory card installed, you'll be able to switch between phone and memory card items by scrolling left and right. Scroll to the file you want to add and select Open or View to attach it to your email. Select Send to send your email.

Can I open email attachments on my INQ Chat 3G?
You can, although some file types are not supported. Most file types associated with photos, videos and music will work with your INQ Chat 3G. However, you will not be able to open Microsoft Office or Mac iWork files like Word Documents or presentations. The INQ Chat 3G does not come with a PDF reader but there are a number of Java applications that will work with the phone to open PDF files.
