How do I set up the weather widget?

Once you’ve selected the weather widget and pressed Done, you’re back on the Home screen. Scroll up to highlight the weather widget, enter the name of the location you want to see weather for, and press Search. If there’s more than 1 location matching the name you entered, you’ll see a list of all matches found. Scroll to your location and press Add.

You’ll now see a two day weather forecast for your location displayed on your home screen. To change this to a five-day forecast, highlight the weather widget, then choose Options > Five day view.

You can add up to 5 weather locations. From the Home screen scroll up to highlight the weather widget, choose Options > Add new location, enter the name of the location you want to see weather for, and press Search.

With all your locations set up, you can scroll between them to keep an eye on the weather at a holiday destination or a friend’s place. From the Home screen, scroll up to highlight the weather widget, then just scroll left and right to move between locations.

      What is an RSS widget?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It’s a good way to get content from a favourite websites sent to you, rather than having to remember to visit each site every day. RSS takes the hassle out of staying up-to-date.

The RSS widget on your INQ Mini 3G will display RSS-ready content from your favourite website (anywhere you see the ‘RSS’ icon next to a link on the internet, you know the content is RSS-ready).

How do I set an RSS feed to display on a widget?

There are two steps to setting up your RSS widget:

      1) Set up a feed. You can find lots of RSS feeds online. Let’s say you’re a big fan of cycling. Press the Menu key, then scroll to Browser and Open. Scroll down to the Search box and enter “Cycling RSS feeds”, then select Go to. Now scroll through the search results and click a link you like the look of (eg http://newsrss.bbc.co.uk/rss/sportonline_uk_edition/other_sports/cycling/rss.xml).

Now choose Options > Add to Feeds > Select. Congratulations, you have added a feed to your INQ Mini 3G!

      2) Set a widget using your feed. From the Home screen scroll up and choose Options > Manage widgets. Scroll down, choose Feed1 > Done. The RSS widget is displayed on the Home screen. Scroll up to it and select Add and scroll down to find your RSS feed in the list.

You can choose how often your RSS widget updates. Press the Menu key, then scroll to Browser and Open. Scroll down to Feeds and Open. Now choose Options > Set auto-update and choose how often you want feeds to update.
