Choose a text entry method

You can choose how you want to input text by pressing the # key when you are in a text box. To turn predictive text on or off, press and hold the # key.

The text input options are:

Predictive text: Press each key once - even if the character you want isn’t the first one on the key - and your phone will predict the word you want. If the word you want to type isn’t the first option shown, press the * key to show alternatives or spell the word manually.
ABC Input: Use the keypad to enter letters, numbers, symbols and other characters. Press the same key repeatedly to cycle through the available characters. If you don’t press a key for two seconds, the character in the block cursor is accepted and the cursor moves to the next position.
123 Input: If you want to input a series of numbers, press the # key and select 123, or press and hold the particular key for three seconds.
Symbol Input: Press the * key to display the symbols list and then select the symbol to input. You can also press the 1 key to input commonly used symbols.

If you’re using predictive text and the phone doesn’t predict the word you want, you can add it to the dictionary by selecting Options > Input options > Add to dictionary
